The Skincare Routine Guide

Building an effective skincare routine isn't about accumulating products: it's about applying the right products, in the right order, at the right frequency. This guide explains the logic of a facial routine so that every step counts.

Why follow a routine?

Skin continuously renews itself. A regular routine supports it: it cleanses, hydrates, protects, and stimulates cell renewal. Consistency—more than intensity—yields visible and lasting results: a brighter complexion, smoother skin texture, and more comfortable skin.

The order of application for facial care

The golden rule: apply textures from thinnest to thickest. Each layer must be able to penetrate before the next.

  1. Cleanser / Makeup Remover — start with clean skin. In the evening, remove makeup first, then cleanse.
  2. Toner / Liquid Exfoliant — prepares the skin and refines texture.
  3. Serum / Targeted Treatment — concentrated active ingredients, applied to slightly damp skin.
  4. Hydrator / Gel — plumps and retains water in the skin.
  5. Cream — seals in hydration and nourishes.
  6. Sunscreen — in the morning only, as the last and essential step.

Exfoliant frequency

Exfoliation smooths skin texture and revives radiance, but it should be done in moderation. Too often, it weakens the skin barrier.

  • Gentle exfoliant (mild acids): 2 times a week is sufficient for most skin types.
  • Clay purifying mask: 1 time a week, on areas that need it.
  • Integr gradually: start once a week, then increase if your skin tolerates it well.

Exfoliating treatments should be used in the evening, never at the same time as other powerful active ingredients, and always followed by good hydration.

Hydration, the central step

All skin types need hydration—including oily skin. Well-hydrated skin is more supple, brighter, and better protected. Alternate according to your needs: a light gel for a fresh finish, a cream for more comfort.

Morning vs. Evening: two goals

In the morning, protect: gentle cleansing, hydration, protection. In the evening, repair and renew: makeup removal, targeted treatments, occasional exfoliation.

How long before seeing results?

Allow approximately 4 to 6 weeks of regularity to observe the first effects of a routine, the time of a skin renewal cycle. Patience is part of the care.
